FIBRAIGUA offers a pioneering service in Spain, which allows you to install fibre-optic cabling using the same infrastructure as freshwater piping. By using the existing water network as an outer coating and by installing a micro-duct within this infrastructure, it creates a new channel that makes it possible to introduce fibre-optic cables securely.

What do we offer?
We install optical fibre cabling using the freshwater piping infrastructure.

This system is a pipe-in-pipe solution in which the fibre does not come into contact with the water at any time and the wiring is completely dielectric. This solution, standardised and approved in Europe and the U.S., allows the deployment of an optical fibre network inside the existing water network. Thanks to the advice provided by our team of experts, this system represents a breakthrough in the optimisation of piping for underground services.

It is an approved system that meets the WRAS NSF/ANSI 61and NSF/ANSI 372 standards. This system, patented and implemented in the UK, makes it possible to apply optical fibre in Spain with savings in terms of space, time and costs. .

Our team of professionals has an extensive background in the management of water supply networks, hydraulic mechanics and engineering related to the sector. FIBRAIGUA is owned by ATCA S.L.

We collaborate with local authorities, county councils, companies and individuals who need to have optical fibre reach places that would be too costly technically, economically and/or environmentally using traditional methods. Consequently, we make projects that have hitherto been impossible viable. Taking advantage of the existing water pipes, we can be faster, cheaper, sustainable and respectful of the environment.

Distribution and Installation

We can draw on our lengthy experience in hydraulic mechanics and management of freshwater networks, to deploy the patented Hydrotec Atlantis solution exclusively; creating a fibre-optic network inside the existing freshwater network itself, regardless of the characteristics of the pipes.

Maintenance and Training

We offer a maintenance service, both preventive and corrective, for the fibre-optic networks deployed with the technological solution for which we are distributors and installers. This maintenance may include a wide range of options and variables, which will be adjusted according to each scenario. Referring only to the telecommunications network.



D Series

Designed to solve the problems when providing a connection between the public thoroughfare and the property. It is ideal for FTTx connectivity in individual properties and gated communities.


M Series

Designed for connecting end users. It allows connection from scattered areas such as in streets or housing estates; even distributing the service by deploying a network within the building itself. It enables a high degree of capillarity.


T Series

Designed to be installed in the main pipes that serve more than one dwelling, deploying a core broadband network that is scalable according to the requirements. It enables the main arteries of the telecommunication network to be constructed.

The section of the micro-duct that houses the optical fibre represents only between 2% and 3% of the cross-section of the freshwater pipe, so the end user does not perceive any change with regard to flow, speed and pressure, nor is the normal operation of the network affected.
It is necessary to create a bypass, on going in and out of the pipe, in the case of those elements that interrupt the network, such as tanks, meters, valves and taps, but not in other elements such as air valves, discharges, and other junction points.
The construction work that has to be carried out is minimal and is reduced to widening the manholes or creating them at the points where the optical fibre enters and exits.
The installation time varies depending on the flow rate and the speed of the water flowing through the pipes. Our experience tells us that it is possible to install a stretch of more than 1.5 km in length per day.
Interruptions in the water supply will only be scheduled during the installation period, and will consist of four brief cuts. Once the installation phase is completed, there is no effect or alteration in the water service.
The different solutions make it possible to deploy fibre-optic network inside pipes of any material (cast iron, polyethylene, PVC, fibre-cement) and diameter, ranging from the junction points the interior installations to pipes in service.
The maximum length of each one of the stretches varies from between one and two kilometres, but it is necessary to study each case.
The owner of the fibre-optic network will generally be the one who bears the cost of its deployment.
FIBRAIGUA provides the maintenance service, both preventive and corrective. Consequently, the conditions and services associated with this will depend on the requirements of each network. In no event can this have an impact on the water service but rather the telecommunications service.
The owner of the network will decide who operates it, since FIBRAIGUA is not a service operator. We can provide advice within our area of studies and projects, either inside or outside of the deployment project.
The products and installation techniques that we use are authorised with the approval of the governing body of the United Kingdom, WRAS, and are also certified by the Organisation for Health and Public Safety with NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF/ANSI 372.
